Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Marvellous New Year!
Roberta, Sandro and Guinevere

'Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even a mouse.

A Birman lay crouching,
With hardly a care,
In hopes just one mouse,
Would come on a dare.

More Birmans lay draped,
On sofa and chair,
With white gloves agleaming,
And laces so fair.

Yet more were asleep,
Upon yonder bed,
With visions of tuna,
And treats in their head.

When all at once there rose,
Such a clatter,
I jumped to my feet,
To see what's the matter.

A kitten in tree,
Playing with ball,
Had crashed the whole thing,
In a loud, mighty fall.

The others awakened,
To check on the noise,
One group of girls,
The other of boys.

I knew in my heart,
The calm was all done,
Sleep time was over,
Play time had begun.

So, into the kitchen,
I knew what to do,
The way to calm Birmans,
Is only with food.

I opened the cans,
And poured out more kibble,
And knew they'd be quiet,
If only they'd nibble.

The food disappeared,
In only a moment,
I looked at the cats,
They all were content.

I sat on a chair,
All covered with fur,
The Birmans leaped up,
And started to purr.

Love bites abounded,
And licking my nose,
The kitten so tiny,
Nibbled on toes.

Christmas had come,
And I needed rest,
But Birmans made sure,
I loved them best.

I looked into eyes,
So shining and blue,
And knew they had,
A message for you.

From my cats to yours,
It's fitting and right,
Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good night'.
